The UN Global Compact Network Ukraine will hold an Information Warfare and Information Operations Forum

The UN Global Compact in Ukraine provides a platform for a comprehensive discussion of global disinformation challenges, counterfeiting and adherence to the principles of transparency in the media, business and ESG evaluation. On June 6, at 11:00, an online forum on “Information Warfare and Information Operations” will be held with the participation of representatives of Ukrainian media groups, leaders of the public, public and business sectors of Ukraine and the EU.

The Forum will feature a high-level dialogue on Ukraine’s experience in countering information special operations at the national and international levels. Leaders in various spheres of governance will discuss the first findings of countering Russian propaganda in a full-scale war and new challenges in the transparent assessment of the ESG and business governance principles that will provide conditions for attracting foreign investment and rebuilding Ukraine.

The Forum’s program consists of three thematic panels:

  • Combating Misinformation and Information Security of the Country: The Unity of the Ukrainian Information Front;
  • ESG Evaluation in an Era of Information Warfare;
  • Re-Building Ukraine: Business Accountability, Integrity, Transparency as an Obligatory Pre-Requisite of Investments.

“Transparent work of all governmental and non-governmental organizations in Ukraine is a guarantee of effective reconstruction of the country after the end of hostilities. Only transparent Ukrainian business can claim a close partnership with international donors who are ready to financially support the reconstruction of destroyed Ukrainian cities. It is very important today to formulate the principles according to which investors will help Ukraine and according to which the entire Ukrainian private sector will work in the future. And honest and responsible media have to set the tone and be an example of information disclosure. It is nice to admit that Ukraine has something to be proud of, because our journalists show strong results in objective coverage of the war,” said Tatiana Saharuk, CEO of the UN Global Compact Network Ukraine.

The Forum will allow a comprehensive assessment of the current impact of disinformation in the national and global context. The speakers will discuss the most effective tools for protecting information security of the country and business, measuring the sustainability of companies and approaches to be implemented to overcome short-term and long-term risks of information transactions.

The partner of the event is Starlight Media, a Ukrainian media group and a member of the UN Global Compact, which has 8 years of expertise in combating Russian disinformation and is currently involved in the creation of the United News Marathon.

The event will take place online. The working languages of the Forum are Ukrainian and English. Translation into Ukrainian and English will be provided for attendees. You can join the event by pre-registering.
